  • Review and redevelopment of the standards and qualifications for Hairdressing Levels 1 to 3, including the development of new standards.

  • Assistance with the development of technical certificates for the retail motor trade - outline programme design and editing.

  • Review and redevelopment of standards and qualification structures for Vehicle Parts Operations and Vehicle Sales on behalf of the Motor Industry Training Council.

  • Development of Key Skills Learning Support Materials for trainers and trainees, including Part A Test Preparation materials for hairdressers.

  • Sector research associated with the redevelopment of Modern Apprenticeship Frameworks for Hairdressing & Beauty Therapy.

  • Research associated with the development of Skills Foresight and Workforce Development Plans for HABIA.

  • The review, re-development and representation of the existing standards and qualification structures for the Bingo sector on behalf of the Distribution National Training Organisation.

  • Development of Key Skills support materials connected to the IT National Occupational Standards and NVQs/SVQs  

  • Signposting Key and Core Skills to National Occupational Standards.  

  • Research and development associated with the formation an NVQ/SVQ assessment strategy for the Hairdressing & Beauty Therapy sectors.  

  • The comprehensive review, re-writing and re-presentation of the Information Technology National Occupational Standards and associated NVQs and SVQs in conjunction with the staff of the IT National Training Organisation.  13 new NVQs and SVQS have now received accreditation, including 2 new qualifications for Teleworking.  The work also involved ‘signposting’ Key/Core Skills and the development of an Assessment Strategy.  

  • The evaluation and categorisation of current non-NVQ qualifications against National Occupational Standards for two sectors on behalf of the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority.  This pilot project also explored some of the issues arising from undertaking such work.  

  • The complete review, re-writing and representation of the existing standards and development of new standards and qualifications for the Retail Motor Trade.  This work was carried out in conjunction with Pye Tait, Harrogate.  

  • The tailoring and contextualisation of existing MCI and SFEDI Level 4 standards and qualifications to enhance their ‘user friendliness’ for hairdressing managers and proprietors.  The project also included the development of self-assessment materials, based on the two sets of standards.  These materials are now being used to assist more people in the sector access Level 4 qualifications.  

  • The review, re-structuring and re-presentation of the standards for Beauty Therapy, including sector consultations and the signposting of Key/Core Skills.  The project resulted in the successful accreditation of new Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications for this sector.  

  • Ongoing provision of direct training in the Achievement of Customer Satisfaction for the Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ltd.  This one-day course utilises accelerated learning techniques both in its structure and content.
